College Police Academy

Hollywood and the media portray a law enforcement career as one of C.S.I., high speed chases and bad guys confessing within an hour or two of an arrest. The objective of the Behind The Badge program is to address the misconceptions and show the students what police officers really do.

The agencies working with this program have a history of integrity, respect, commitment, fairness and courage. These traits are conveyed throughout the program.

What You Will Learn

The trainee will recognize the fundamental duties, obligations, influences, and philosophies inherent with the acceptance of a position as a police officer. He/she will possess a working knowledge of the employing agency's organization, chain of command, and rules and regulations.

When We Meet

The College Police Academy will consist of 10 sessions. Some of the sessions will be classroom settings, others will be hands-on learning and skills building.
